James Guffey, Sr. - President
James (Jim Sr.) began earning his real estate experience in the mid ’70s, adding management and development experience over the next 30 years. In 1989 he started his property tax experience as the President of his own company in California and was a pioneer in the decade of the ’90’s, saving thousands of Clients millions of dollars. Jim Sr. has developed, operated and sold interests in international residential developments (Guatemala), commercial developments in Southern California including a Fuel Distribution business and gas stations, and has extensive experience as an owner of commercial properties. As one of the principals in Commercial Property Tax Associates (CPTA), it is his direction and leadership that other company’s can only follow.
Branton G. Lachman - Corporate Counsel
Branton Lachman, JD, PharmD, is an attorney, pharmacist and educator with extensive experience in public entity and business law. After attaining a bachelor in music and a doctorate in pharmacy he attended Western State University College of Law where he was Editor-in-chief of Law Review, externed at the California 4th District Court of Appeal and graduated as valedictorian. Along with his legal practice he teaches corporate law at a regional law school. In the last real estate recession of the 1990’s James Sr. and Branton worked closely to provide their Clients maximum property tax savings.
James E. Guffey, III (Jim)- Executive Vice President of Real Estate Services and Internet Technologies
Jim graduated from American InterContinental University in 2002 with a bachelor of science in information technology. After a short time with a mutual fund firm in Santa Monica, Jim moved on to manage the families gas station business, including the development of the communication and accounting systems as well as overseeing the fuel distribution clients and tenants across the different locations. In 2007, Jim started with CAPTA designing and implementing the infrastructure in place today. He now oversees the appraisal staff in our Temecula location.
Gary Hill, Director of Marketing
Gary comes to us as a senior management executive with over 25 years experience and exceptional performance in all phases of sales and marketing. He also brings a proven track record in re-engineering current processes and turning around marginal operations. His major strengths include leadership, enterprise account development, sales and marketing process improvement. As Director of Marketing for CAPTA he has plans for many exciting programs for the continued development and growth of the company, as well as fostering our existing client relationships.
